4G 2023 02 04

It has been a busy week.

Most of it has been work.

Some people at my school think I need more work.

Do you have that problem?

At your school?

You do your work and then they give you more!

After school I go to visit new places.

Yesterday I went to a place that is called,

Addisu Gebeya or New Market.

I went on a bus with alot of other people.

When we got up the hill to where the bus stopped,

everybody got off and they seemed to disappear.

It is funny how that number of people in a bus

Is very crowded.

When they get out onto the street

We all have so much space.

We walked along beside a road that had no traffic,

Many games of football were being played there.

We were looking for a park we had heard of,

It seems it was further than we thought.

A minibus taxi with only the driver explained

Where it was we should go.

We got in and he took us through the sheep and cows,

They were for the market of the name.

When he dropped us at the gate

We all smiled and he said 'no pay'.

I think he knew the park was already closed.

It was five in the evening, it closed at four.

Guilele Botanical Gardens and pretty they looked,

From the outside.

Deciding to walk back to the bus stop

We gate-crashed a wedding photo-shoot.

Plants, flowers, forest, and a rising moon,

Like us in the background.

On the way we got a yellow and red bus, Anbessa,

Returning was blue and I have no idea who runs it.

Although it said 'express' the rule with traffic,

If you want to avoid accidents,

Is to go at the speed of those around you.

Evening before dark is not express traffic time.

Today is Saturday and washing day and shopping day.

Gosh, we went a long way to visit shops.

The people I went with like to do this.

They go a long way for things because they

Can not find satisfaction in what is near them.

Have you noticed that happen?

We seem to want things from far away,

Yet we could get local ones easier.

I made it my aim to buy something from each shop.

Something that I could not get at my nearby places.

I bought butter (my local lady runs out before I get

To her shop after work), raisins, green tea, AAA batteries.

Now I have dinner, it is cool in the evening.

During the sunny day it is warm and

Hotter than where you are.

At night it gets cold like your days.

How are you finding waiting now.

Soon you will be the big sister.

Woohoo :-)

4G 2023 01 31

It has taken years.

And a question asked.

Your teacher will tell you not to start a sentence with "And".

You will say "GK, if you know that, why did you?"

The answer to your question is like the answer to the question in

our "And . . . " sentence.

I seem to have a habit of looking at things from at least two sides.

I ask "what if . . ." ? I am curious.

Being curious is good I think. Many people are curious and make

important finds. Old things from the past and new things for the

future.

What is happening now puzzles me. I want to know how my world "fits together".

People, cultures, places.

When I write a note to you it will tell you about something.

Perhaps some thing that I have seen.

A place that I have been.

It could be something I have done.

Or maybe words, just for fun.

For now, for today,

Let me only say.

Today I went for a juice,

I caught a yellow bus.

The bus had no number, no destination.

A man jumped off as it arrived at Minilik stop.

He shouted "Shiro Meda" and we knew to pay the fare.

Up the hill towards Entoto,

Through Siddis Kilo.

We got off and went to a restaurant.

Juice and coffee at the end of a busy day.

Juice, fresh, from avocado, papaya, and lime.

It was fabulous and should be famous.

The end of the story, the end of the day.

It is very unlikely that there will be any more posts in June this year! Tomorrow I fly, drive, eat, sleep, not necessarily in that order....
